Research focus
Our research group investigates translational research questions in thoracic neoplasms. In close collaboration with the Lung Tumor Center at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, we characterize clinical cohorts at the histomorphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular levels. By integrating these approaches, we aim to advance personalized therapeutic strategies. To learn more about our recent projects, we invite you to explore our publications.

Methods

A key focus of our research is the comprehensive analysis of clinical tissue samples at single-cell resolution. Using both single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, we dissect tumor biology with high precision. This approach enables us to unravel how interactions between tumor cells and the immune and stromal components of the tumor microenvironment shape responses to modern cancer therapies and help identify novel therapeutic targets.

Recent publications

We are proud to share our recent publication in Annals of Oncology.
In this study, we explored resistance mechanisms in lung cancer after long-term immune checkpoint inhibition.
